Guess the Town

About Guess the Town

A small daily puzzle about the places of Australia and New Zealand, made by Schottlerworks.

What it is

Guess the Town is a free daily puzzle. Every day there is one mystery town, the same for everyone. You get six clues, from vague to specific, and you try to name the town in as few clues as you can. When the puzzle ends, a town card shows what the place looks like and what it is known for.

The atlas

The towns come from an atlas of 434 real Australian and New Zealand places: capital cities, regional cities, suburbs, country towns and some very remote spots. The same atlas powers our NeverSpend games, so a town you guess here is also a place you can order food in, book a motel in or fly to in those games.

How facts are checked

Every clue and every fact is written first, then checked by a second pass against a published source before it goes live. We stick to stable facts about a place and leave out tragedies, crimes, politics and private businesses. If you spot something wrong, please tell us and we will fix it.

Open beta

Guess the Town is new, so puzzles, rules and features may change without warning. Easy and Hard modes and extra themes are planned. We read every piece of feedback.

Past puzzles live in the archive, and the rules are on the how to play page.
